I didn't start journaling because I wanted to be a writer.
I started because I needed somewhere to put things I couldn't say out loud. The journal was just a place. A quiet room where nothing had to be performed.
What I found when I got inside surprised me. I had been carrying a lot for a long time. The pages knew before I did.
I also found that the questions matter more than the answers. Returning to the same prompt twice doesn't mean you failed the first time. It means something in you wasn't finished.
